Let’s talk Rainbow Moonstone! This beauty belongs to the feldspars and has a density of 6-6,5 on the Mohs scale. The stone can be recognised by its semi-clear white appearance and (surprise, surprise 😜) rainbow-ish reflection. This beautiful rainbow glare is officially called labradorescence. The name might be deceiving as this gemstone isn’t a moonstone; Rainbow moonstone is actually labradorite! This white-coloured variation of labradorite has become so popular with time that it was officially assigned the name Rainbow Moonstone.
Amongst others, rainbow moonstone can be found in Australia, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Madagascar and Finland!
Rainbow Moonstone is associated with the zodiac signs Cancer, Libra, Capricorn and Pisces. Read more on which gemstones match which zodiac signs on this page!
